chianti wine tour with lunch

About this journey

A long Tuscan lunch in the country.

A Chianti wine tour is the most authentic way to experience the heart of Tuscany — with a private MPV picking you up directly from your hotel in Florence. You’ll choose between visiting the medieval town of San Gimignano, known as the ‘city of towers’ and a UNESCO World Heritage site, with 2 hours of free time to explore its alleyways and squares, or heading directly to the stunning Chianti wine region, famous for its hills covered in vineyards and picturesque villages.

After the morning visit, the experience continues at a traditional Tuscan winery, where you’ll enjoy an exclusive wine tasting paired with a typical lunch — antipasto, first course and second course. During the tasting, 6 selected labels are served: Bianco, Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and three Super Tuscans, plus olive oil and balsamic vinegar produced artisanally on the estate.

An authentic experience that combines history, flavours and unforgettable Tuscan landscapes. A full day designed for travellers who want to taste Italy properly — at the pace of a long lunch in the country.

What you’ll experience

The Tuscany of your imagination.

Hotel pickup in private MPV

We collect you directly from your hotel or B&B in Florence in a comfortable air-conditioned MPV. Chauffeur service throughout the day — no driving, no logistics.

San Gimignano OR Chianti — your choice

Choose between the medieval 'city of towers' (UNESCO heritage, 2h free time to explore) or heading directly to the Chianti hills with their vineyards and stone villages.

6 wines, properly tasted

Bianco, Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino, and three Super Tuscans. Each wine introduced by the winemaker — the story, the soil, the year.

Traditional Tuscan lunch included

A proper three-course Tuscan lunch at the winery — antipasto, primo, secondo. Real Tuscan food, not a tasting menu. The kind of meal that takes hours and you don't want to end.

Estate olive oil & balsamic vinegar

The winery also produces artisanal olive oil and balsamic vinegar. You'll taste both — and understand why Tuscan oil tastes nothing like what you buy in supermarkets.

The Tuscan landscape

Cypress-lined roads, hilltop villages, vineyards stretching to the horizon. The Tuscany of postcards — but felt at the speed of a long, slow drive.

San Gimignano OR Chianti

You choose: 2 hours in the medieval town of San Gimignano, or heading directly to the Chianti hills. Most travellers choose San Gimignano if it’s their first time in Tuscany.

The lunch

A proper three-course Tuscan lunch — antipasto, primo (usually handmade pasta), secondo (meat or vegetarian on request). Pairs with the wine tasting. Plenty of time, no rush.

Harvest season

September and October are harvest months. Vineyards are at their most beautiful but also busiest — book in advance. The wines are not new yet, but the energy on the estate is special.

Dietary requirements

Vegetarian, gluten-free and other dietary needs accommodated — please let us know when booking. Italian wineries are generally very accommodating.

What to wear

Comfortable clothes and walking shoes. Layers in spring and autumn (winery cellars are cool). A light scarf or jacket even in summer evenings.
