About this journey

Frozen in time, since 79 AD.

A Pompeii archaeological tour is the most powerful way to step into the Roman world — the city was frozen in time on August 24th, 79 AD, when Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried Pompeii under volcanic ash. Almost two millennia later, the city has been excavated and you can walk its original streets, enter its houses, see the frescoes that decorated its walls.

With skip-the-line tickets and a licensed archaeological guide, you’ll walk the Forum (the political heart), the Lupanare (the city brothel with its astonishing frescoes), the House of the Faun (Pompeii’s largest aristocratic residence), the bakery with its still-intact mill, the Stabian Baths, and the Amphitheatre. Two hours of guided exploration that brings ancient Roman daily life into vivid focus.

The tour includes private transfer from Naples or anywhere on the Amalfi Coast — no train logistics, no walking from distant stations. Door-to-door from your hotel to the gates of one of the world’s most extraordinary archaeological sites.

What you’ll experience

A Roman city, brought back to life.

Skip-the-line tickets included

No queues, no waiting. Pre-booked entry to Pompeii — bypassing the lines that can be 1–2 hours during high season.

Private transfer included

We collect you from your hotel in Naples or anywhere on the Amalfi Coast and return you after the tour. Chauffeur service — no train, no logistics.

Licensed archaeological guide

Your guide is a certified Italian archaeologist with deep knowledge of Roman daily life, Pompeian art and the eruption of 79 AD. Stories, not just dates.

The Forum and Capitolium

The political and religious heart of Pompeii — the temples, the basilica (law court), the market, the column where Vesuvius now appears on the horizon.

Frescoes, mosaics, daily life

The House of the Faun's mosaics, the erotic frescoes of the Lupanare, the still-intact bakery and laundry. Roman daily life preserved by the ash.

The shadow of Vesuvius

Throughout the tour, Vesuvius rises on the horizon — the mountain that destroyed Pompeii, still very much active. The most dramatic backdrop in archaeology.

Pricing by group size

€950 for 2 people · €1.050 for 4 people · €1.150 for 6 people. Total tour fee, not per person. Includes the transfer, the archaeological guide and skip-the-line tickets.

Pickup location

We collect from Naples, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, or any hotel along the coast. Transfer time and price are the same. Tell us your hotel when booking.

Adding Vesuvius

We can add a guided ascent of Mount Vesuvius (~2 hours, separate ticket ~€10 per person) for an additional fee. The crater views are spectacular. Best as a half-day extension.

Adding Herculaneum

Herculaneum (the smaller sister site, better preserved) can be added for a fuller day. Many travellers prefer Herculaneum’s intimacy to Pompeii’s scale — ask us about a combined tour.

What to wear

Comfortable walking shoes — Pompeii’s streets are original Roman cobblestones, very uneven. Sun protection essential (almost no shade), hat, sunscreen, water bottle.

Best time

Morning tours (8–9am start) recommended in summer — Pompeii in afternoon heat is exhausting. Spring and autumn are ideal.

Accessibility

Pompeii has some uneven terrain but the main routes are walkable. Some areas have wheelchair accessibility. Tell us in advance about any mobility considerations.
